I really appreciate good photography but have absolutely no idea how to take it. I also hate having my photo taken as I tend to end up feeling like a potato wearing makeup. Enter Emma!


I had stalked Emma's photography on Instagram for quite a while but never reached out. Then a mutual wedding supplier friend recommended me to be included in a styled shoot that Emma was putting together. After meeting up for a glass of wine, we chatted through all of the ideas for the shoot and I found out more about her passion for photography. We got on really well which I think is the most important thing when choosing a photographer.


A few months later I wanted to get some new lifestyle headshots for this website and I got in touch with Emma. She suggested bringing the kids and hubby with me to have a mini family shoot beforehand since we don't really have any photos of the five of us. I have to say I have never felt so at ease in front of the camera! Her ability to make us all relax and engage is amazing, my daughter in particular just loved her and followed her around like a shadow. Even my very shy little boy came out of his shell with her and the end result photos are just beyond my expectations.


Emma specialises in relaxed, fun and engaging photography that truly does make memories.


Emmas Top Tip:

When planning your wedding be completely true to yourself. Don’t be a copycat couple who feel there’s one way to do a wedding.


DO YOU and do it with confidence.


If you are a mellow soul who loves to relax outdoors barefoot with your favourite tunes then plan to do exactly that. If your a passionate about flowers, food, music, colour, friendships then show it all off. Your friends and family will love it because they love you.


Just some of my couples who have nailed it:


1. The couple were crazy about food and boy did they put on an epic spread. A very chilled teepee wedding in a field with the most delicious grub and relaxed atmosphere.


2. This was one creative bride who nailed her springtime wedding. Beautiful pastel tones and something for everyone including doggy treats as pet favours!


3. These guys planned their day around their favourite season... Autumn. Rich plum and peach tones finished off with twinkling candlelight. The bride cried when she saw it all come together just as she’d imaged.


Emma's Top Three Venues to Photograph:



1. The Kings Arms - Christchurch: It’s a combo of the quintessentially English old cricket pavilion, the huge outdoor space and the old ruins that make it so perfect.


2. The Old Vicarage - Hinton: This venue has so many photo opportunities it’s ridiculous! The gardens are so beautifully maintained and if you catch it in spring the lawn is scattered with beautiful blossom petals.


3. Sopley Mill: I’m a sucker for red brick! This venue is so full of character and history. It feels extra special and majestic at night when the festoon lights twinkle on the river.

Working in a creative industry is amazing for many reasons, one of which is meeting and working with a plethora of talented people. In this series, I want to share some wonderful people and small businesses with you wherever you might be in the country or world!


First up is the very lovely Rachel at Love By Design Weddings & Events. I was introduced to Rachel through a mutual friend when she first started her styling business and since then we have both attended the same wedding fairs, worked together on styled shoots, and even enjoyed a glass of wine or two!


Based in Dorset, Love By Design Weddings & Events can transform any venue into pure perfection for your wedding day or special occasion. Using your own decorations and props, items from their immense catalogue, or a mixture of both, Rachel uses her impeccable attention to detail to ensure that everything is above and beyond your expectations. She isn't happy until your venue has the WOW factor - as it should.


In just a relatively short period of 3 years Rachel has become one of the most recommended venue stylists in Dorset which is a huge testament to her ability to ensure no two weddings are the same, her focus on customer service and her eye for style.


Rachel's Top Tips:


1. Choose a venue that suits your decor theme. If your heart is set on a rustic wedding, opt for a barn, marquee or blank canvas venue rather than a heavily decorated hotel. Likewise, if you dream of Hollywood glam, opt for a castle, stately home or luxury hotel.


2. Budget for a stylist (ideally between £700 and £1,500 depending on the size of your wedding and your ideas) and book them as soon as you've booked your venue rather than leaving it to last. Every year I turn away so many couples because I'm already fully booked, or am asked to quote for full venue styling when there is no money left in the pot. Both are heartbreaking!


And last but not least


3. If you don't know where to start when it comes to the venue decor and styling, head over to Pinterest and start some mood boards. You'll quickly see a theme/look/colour scheme emerging and we can use these ideas as the basis of our styling consultation.


Rachel's Top Three:

These three different weddings are some of my favourites because they were so unique.


1. Festival themed wedding at Charisworth Farm, with flags, tents, hay bales and wellies!


2. A colourful wedding at The Mill at Gordleton where the marquee was filled with paper planes made by the couple, as the groom is a pilot.


3. The 3rd wedding was this one at Parley Manor, because I was asked to create flower garlands, which I'd never done before, and the end result was so pretty.

I have been thinking about adding a blog to the website for quite a while but I just never got round to it for one reason or another, so when it came to relaunching the business I decided that now is the time. This is my first ever blog so I can't pretend that I know what I'm doing, or that my writing style is particularly good - writing is not my forte, but chatting endlessly is - so I will give it my best shot.


To start with here's a little introduction to me and why I started Live, Laugh, Create (LLC).


The face behind Live Laugh Create

My name is Taryn. I was named after one of the girls in the band, Kid Kreole and the Coconuts from the 80s! So yes, I'm named after a coconut - but I love it and people do tend to remember me because of it. I live on the beautiful South Coast in between Poole and Bournemouth, which gives me lots of inspiration and therapy. My husband Matt and I are busy parents of three little monkeys; Poppy, Buzz, and Jasper - and spend as much time as we can either down the beach or in the forest as a family.


I always knew that I wanted to do something creative and spent my entire childhood trying any craft that came within my reach. I chopped and changed my ideas of what I would like to do from illustrator, working for Disney, set designer, and vet (until I realised I can't cope with blood). As I wasn't sure what I wanted to do I opted to complete the equivalent of the first year of university at college, gaining my BTEC in Graphic Design.


From there I gained a Junior Graphic Design role with a marketing agency in Verwood... and the rest is history. I have worked for a variety of companies as a graphic or web designer over the years, both in specialist agencies and as an in-house designer, learning as I go and gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience.


Live Laugh Create started as a collaborative blog with my cousin and a friend at the time, where we would upload things we have done from sewing, crochet, upcycles, and anything else we could think of. We ended up running out of steam and got caught up with our day to day lives.

I still had the domain so when I started doing bits and pieces of design for friends and family, I took it on as my company name and it's grown from there. LLC sums up everything that I do in life and helps to keep me grounded. Since I founded Live Laugh Create in 2013 I have worked with clients spanning all kinds of occasions and professions - the variety of life and work is what I love most!


So what will I be writing about - in short, everything. I hope to include articles about:
